On June 16 Holland park was the scenario for Surrey Fest Downtown 2018. Created in 1999 under the former name of Whalley Community Festival, the event aims to celebrate the community pride as well as to promote the services provided by different associations and organizations in Whalley.
The sunny weather complemented the good atmosphere of the event and many families enjoyed the festival throughout the day. The Surrey-Whalley MLA Community Office had a booth where its volunteers, as well as MLA Bruce Ralston, had the opportunity to listen to constituents about current issues the community has been facing and also present actions that have been taken to tackle the problems.
The event gathered the local community in its rich cultural mosaic having representatives having booths for institutions of varied purposes, from private and public service providers to charity foundations.
