VICTORIA – The generosity and compassion taught by Islam and celebrated on this holy occasion of Eid al-Adha is shared by all British Columbians, said New Democrat leader John Horgan.

“On behalf of the New Democrat caucus, we extend our best wishes for a happy Eid al-Adha to all British Columbians who practice the Islamic faith,” said Horgan. “Our New Democrat team joins me in wishing a happy Eid al-Adha to all British Columbians who are celebrating this special time. Eid Mubarak.”

Bruce Ralston, the New Democrat spokesperson for trade and multiculturalism said, “The Muslim community works beside others offering assistance to people in need, now and throughout the year. That help is given to people of all communities and faiths and is deeply appreciated. Your service helps build stronger, more compassionate communities.

“The teaching and lessons of Eid al-Adha are reflected in the many great contributions made to our province by the Muslim community.

“Eid Mubarak.”
